Downtown Palm Springs is a happening place. A stroll on Palm Canyon Drive with its Walk of Stars, honoring both pioneers and entertainment celebs, offers shops, galleries, restaurants, coffeehouses and, when you turn the corner at Tahquitz Canyon Way, there's Lucille Ball holding court on a bronze bench. Newly added to Palm Canyon Drive is a bronze smiling image of Sonny Bono greeting visitors to the Mercado Plaza Theater, the scene of any Jack Benny radio broadcasts in the 40's as well as a Hollywood premiere or two. Today it is the home of The Fabulous Palm Spring Follies.
