Utility Supplied Power:

Due to the premium prices which utility companies usually charge for on-peak electricity, it is the less expensive way to operate the our generator during peak-power-demand, whereby power is produced on-site during those hours when electricity is at it’s highest price from the utility. In order to determine the cost of producing power with a Envirogen Energy System, several factors must be considered including:

Cost of power
Cost of time of use
Cost of Envirogen lease
Cost of future energy
use as inflation rises in costs of the industry ( predicted 40% increase by 2012). We offer a complete line of self power electric (photovoltaic or PV) solutions for residential, commercial and remote power applications. Envirogen Energy provides its turnkey, ready-to-install PV & generation systems. We welcome inquiries from electrical or general contractors looking to join our team as we expand nationally as well as from builders interested in adding PV systems into their new housing developments.

Envirogen Energy Residential Services

To make it easier than ever to enjoy the benefits of a residential solar electric system, contact us regarding your complete turnkey system installation.

Envirogen Energy services include:

Site evaluation
After this initial conversation, we will evaluate your home and assess the requirements and cost of installing a system on your home or business. The site evaluation usually takes one to two hours, and involves the laying out a possible configuration of the Envirogen system.

Engineering
Engineers will work to ensure the system is properly designed to meet your needs. We’ll prepare a series of calculations to determine how much of your electricity bill will be offset by the Envirogen, as well several drawings that describe how the system will be interconnected to the utility grid.

Installation
Can be done using local licensed electrician, pre-qualified by Envirogen Energy, who will contract directly with us to perform the installation. The installation typically involves installing the Envirogen and laying out the modules on the roof.

System acceptance testing and commissioning
Our electrician will personally test your system and complete the required start up procedures. This test ensures that the system is functioning properly and will pass the subsequent utility inspection.

Utility interconnection
All of our systems are designed to meet the requirements of both your local utility and the National Electric Code (NEC). Our electrician will manage all details to ensure that your solar electric system also passes a local building/electrical inspection and is properly registered and sanctioned by the utility. Once completed, you will officially begin to be eligible to sell power back to your utility, providing they allow for "net metering."

Full customer training
It is our goal that you become familiar with how your Envirogen and PV system works. With that in mind, our electrician will provide you with a custom user's manual and walk you through on the aspects of your system. The Envirogen has automatic switching and self checking on the system status monitoring, system startup, and automatic emergency shut down.

Determine a system type.
Decide whether you want to use solar electricity to meet some or all of your needs and whether you desire back-up power.

Request a packet of information.
If you would like to have a hard copy of this information, please call us.

Discuss your options.
A local electrician will review your assessment form and contact you to discuss the various systems, as well as any available rebates at the local, state or federal level.

Schedule a site visit.
During this conversation, our representative can schedule a visit your home to assess the requirements and costs of installing the system.

Select your PV system.
A firm quote will be provided for the purchase and terms of your Envirogen and PV system.  Lease options can also be provided at this time.

Put your system to work!
Installation for your system is estimated to begin within 6 - 10 weeks.

The size of the Envirogen and PV array determines how much solar electricity is available, on a daily basis, to offset the amount of energy you normally purchase from the utility. When the amount of electricity being produced by the Envirogen system is greater than the amount required by your lights and appliances, the excess power will be distributed back to the utility and spin your electric meter backwards. This is usually the case during mid-day when the sun is shining and you are not home to use much electricity. Depending on the utility interconnection rules in your state, you will either receive the full lease cost or the avoided cost for this excess solar electricity on your electric bill. There is a direct correlation between the size of the Envirogen and PV array and the amount of electricity you sell back to the utility (and thus, the amount of savings on your monthly utility bill).

Envirogen PLUS

An Envirogen PLUS solar electric system provides the same basic features as the Envirogen and PV array produces a portion (or even all) of your home or business's daily electric needs with clean, pollution-free solar energy. However, this system type also enables you to power a select number of critical electrical circuits in the event of a utility power outage. These circuits are chosen by you and are physically relocated into a separate critical load sub-panel (secondary circuit breaker panel). When an outage occurs, these circuits remain powered by energy that is stored in a modest or large sized battery bank. Typical 120 volt back-up circuits include: lights in critical areas, computers, security systems, television/radios, phone systems, and even refrigerators.

The electricity from the Envirogen is fed into a special utility connected, bi-model electronic power conditioner (also called an inverter). The PV array recharges the battery bank during utility outages, thus extending the battery capacity which is used to provide emergency power by Envirogen.  When the utility outage ends, the system switches back to selling power to the utility and the batteries are quickly brought back to a full state of charge, in preparation for the next utility outage. The batteries are sealed, housed in an attractive cabinet, and require no maintenance.
